I'm not sure how my friends, the professional bloggers find time to make all their postings... It's been quite sometime since the last post so we'll summarize a few events and post a few pics.

Three weekends ago, I got to speak for the Family SS class at Sac Central. Mark Teh arranged this so I could promo WesternYouthConference2007. Following an excellent Study hour with Don Mackintosh and Doug Batchelor and a great sermon by Pastor Doug, we had a full house for lunch. Let's see, 5 from Pastor Don's family, 7 from Alan Parker's family, Cheri Leng, and Dr. Cassandra Loo and her daughter (husband had to work). Later, we gained two more as well. That's 19 in our small living room.

That afternoon, Rachel and I went door-to-door doing some surveys for Amazing Facts regarding their DVD. We asked people to watch the Final Events DVD and then we'd come back the next weekend and ask them how they liked it. We met some very nice people.

In the evening, we had an enjoyable short supper/vespers at Rich and Susan Kollenberg's home, but I also got allergies worse than I've ever had them before (cat I think).

Sunday, Rachel and I woke up at 6am and decided to go snow skiing. We'd wanted to do it for quite some time but usually had too many appointments on Sunday. Here's a picture.

We went to Heavenly in the South Lake Tahoe area because it was the highest resort and I figured the snow might be decent. It wasn't too bad until the afternoon. Rachel and I both remembered how to ski (and snowboard in my case) which made us rather happy as we hadn't done it in about 5 years!

One interesting story and learning point: Rachel hadn't worn her goggles most of the day and in the car found her eyes rather dry. So she put some contact solution in the eyes and was in immediate agony. I called Cheri Leng and we learned that one of the chemicals in contact solution was probably not the best thing for eyes with microabrasions such as Rachel's certainly had after skiing without goggles... Rachel was just happy to find out she wouldn't go blind.

The next weekend, we went to LLU for the first time for Enrique/Estrella's wedding shower. While there, we saw all sorts of friends, and didn't have nearly enough time with any of them. So now it's their turn to come visit us...

So now I'll post a bunch of pictures, scroll to the bottom for next weekend.

Notice Norman's eyes are glowing since he's gotten engaged...

Estrella laying down the law...

So this weekend, Rachel and I got a call Friday night from Curtis and Janine telling us they are engaged! Surprise! Oh, wait, why is no one surprised? Congratulations you two!

So today I preached at the Sutter Hill church. Since Rachel was in the hospital all day I stayed for potluck and even sang with their men's chorus. This afternoon (after a nap), I went outside and helped the friendly neighborhood kids build a fort in our backyard. Then we cut a huge slab of cactus and I peeled it to show them how they could get water in the desert. They were impressed and thought it tasted good. It was actually pretty wretched. And I've got the equivalent of fiberglass stuck in my fingers. Oh well.

Hope you all are doing well. As always, I'll finish by reminding you to visit www.WesternYouthConference.org to win a free laptop (just kidding, but you might win something even better!-)

Hmm, sounds like you were In Heavenly Places before descending into the dark valley of LLU. Anyway, it was good to see you both. Hope it won't be too long until we meet again!

P.S. You also noticed that Norman's eyes have been glowing recently? I thought it was just a neurological abnormality...maybe conversion disorder...
