DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE RELOCATION SERVICES!!
So please repost if you want to help people to avoid moving fiasco!
Before your move:
1) Check http://www.moverreviews.com/
2) Check www.protectyourmove.gov
3) AVOID brokers at all costs (more expensive in the long run, very stressful, potentially hazardous). It's OK to go with a more "expensive company" that has good reviews!
4) And while I'm at it, avoid the company I used: Nationwide Relocation Services. This company is a sister company with American Van Lines, Colonial Van lines (all broker agents under the same corporation--even share the same call center!)
5) IF you are in a bad situation, please make a complaint at the www.protectyourmove.gov (they fine companies about $500/day/violation!). In addition, they have a number you can call with someone who will help you learn your rights and how to protect them. Also, don't be afraid to be a pain. Call the moving company and DO NOT HANG UP until they help you (they won't hang up on you but will do their best to make you hang up, just don't feel bad tying up their phone line!).
