Arguing with a 2 y/o
So this morning Amy, Michael and I are eating breakfast. Michael is smiling and happily babbling while I feed him his baby cereal. I comment to Amy, "Michael is such a happy boy this morning!"
"No, Mommy," Amy corrects me.
"Yes, he is!" I remonstrate back.
"No, Mommy," Amy contradicts AGAIN.
"Yes, he is! Can't you see him smiling. Can't you hear him cooing?"
"No, Mommy, he's not a happy BOY!" Amy says with finality.
Out of desperation I finally ask, "Why don't you think he's a happy boy?"
"Because, Michael's a BABY!"
"So is Michael a happy baby?"
"Yes, Mommy," Amy sighs. Finally relieved Mommy has gotten her appropriate modifiers back in order...
