It's bugging me
Punning already
A few nights ago, while putting Amy to bed she came up with this pun:
"Mommy, I'm wearing my bug pajamas...they are BUGGING me!"
It's hard to wake up when you haven't gone to sleep yet.
Sobbing while protesting a nap, "Mommy, I want to WAKE UP, I want to WAKE UP mommy."
Grown-up name
The last few days, 2 y/o Amy has decided to call me "mom" and not "mommy." I'm not sure I was ready for that transition. Hopefully it's temporary.
Attention seeking already
Don't tell me kids don't want to be the center of attention. At the dinner table over new year's, Amy informed my Sister-in-law that she was TYSON and that her husband was KRISTY. Seeing that this got a few chuckles from the adults, she continued to chant, "You're Tyson, Aunty Kristy." As she realized this did not continue to elicit chuckles, she tried chanting it more loudly and fake laughing at herself. I eventually had to step in and bring to a stop the noise she was making. Just a good reminder about how careful I must be to not draw undue attention to my daughter.
