Think about it

Today we learned about reasoning. The little story we read had a little boy asking a question: "What might happen if--I climb too high/hit my sister/don't come when mommy calls/etc?" It then has the little boy experiencing any one of several consequences in lieu of his choices.

Amy caught on immediately. "Mommy," she stated, "What might happen if (slight pause while she thought of an example) I hit Michael tomorrow?"

Before I had a chance to answer she continued, "I need to think about it today and then I'll hit him tomorrow and find out what happens."

I think we missed the point of the story....
