Pretend food
On getting to the table, Amy Ann was not happy about the cauliflower already on her plate.
"Mommy," she asked, "Do I HAVE to eat my cauliflower?"
"Yes," I stated emphatically. "That's the vegetable I made today and as a good pediatrician I WILL make sure my children eat vegetables."
"Oh," she said sadly and sat thoughtfully for a few seconds.
Suddenly, her face brightened.
"Mommy," she stated excitedly. "Let's pretend that APPLES are vegetables today and I'll have that instead of cauliflower!"
