Michael's reasoning ability far exceeds his vocabulary. Thus, he is quite creative at using a few words to form bigger concepts. For example, he frequently will say "no need, no go" rather than the larger words "do not, does not," etc. I haven't corrected it until today. Don't ask me why, but today at church, I corrected Michael's sentence structure after he stated "Mommy, I no need nappy." I suggested that it would be better to say "Mommy, I don't need a nappy." He's never used the contraction "don't" before, but honestly as said before this is the first time I've actually taken the time to correct it. I gave it no further thought until this evening he came into the bathroom where I was getting ready for work. He stood there a moment watching me and then very slowly and deliberately stated, "Mommy, DON'T go to work!" Wish I could have complied with that request....
