Amy and Michael are now fixated on getting a cat like Nana's cat. Daddy has said emphatically that we are NOT getting a cat. I think they have finally resigned themselves to that reality for yesterday while riding in the car Michael stated: "When I grow up and marry a woman we will have a cat!"
"Oh," I queried. "I thought your wife would have a baby named Peeka? How will she take care of both?"
"Don't worry, Michael!" Amy said enthusiastically as she jumped headfirst into the conversation. "Here's how you will do it: Your wife will take care of Peeka and you will take care of the cat! That's a good idea." She paused for a moment to make sure Michael had a chance to process this solution. "Now Michael," she said quite bossy. "Say, 'yes.'"
Michael nodded his head vigorously and the problem was solved.
