Dental fail

I have either “no-showed” or “rescheduled” Amy’s last three orthodontic appointments to check her retainer. I promise it’s not been intentional...  This is my fourth attempt. I set reminders, I put the appointment on two different calendars, and I told multiple people all in an attempt to actually show up. Well, we just showed up half an hour early. I was breathing a sigh of relief when Amy asked, “Mom, should I have brought my retainer?” 🤦🏼‍♀️ Seriously. What mom goes to a retainer check appointment WITHOUT THE RETAINER. No time to go home. I will just plead gross incompetence  and be thankful that I’m unlikely to run into my orthodontist in a professional setting....
