Day #9
Day summary:
Heard on the news that there may be "stay in place" orders coming down from our government. I decided that, just in case, I would see if I could find some rice. All the stores I've been do have been completely out of rice and oats. I can live without these commodities, but I'd prefer not to. I suddenly had the brilliant idea of checking to see if the Asian store had rice. Michael decided to come with me and Amy stayed home to finish school work. To my great joy, the Asian store had rice--lots and lots of rice! We bought two huge bags of rice plus quite a few other staples. On our way home, we stopped by Aldis on the off chance they had oats. We scored a second win for the day. Aldis had plenty of oats and quantities weren't being rationed. We are now supplied with oats and rice. I think we will survive a shut down.
Due to constant rain (it rained, literally, all day long) we didn't get to the garden or flowerbeds :(
Instead we sheltered under umbrellas and walked through our neighborhood. Umbrellas automatically ensure proper social distancing!
All day, Michael reminded me it was his last day being 7. I'm so sad, time has gone way too quickly with these precious children. I am going to do my best to give Michael a fun day tomorrow despite our social isolation.
I ended the day by finishing a project I've been working on for quite some time: organizing my computer desk and storage room. I'm proud to announce that chaos has been vanquished and order restored to these areas of my home.
