Nelson Sabbath
Yup. Another crazy "Nelson" Sabbath. I was at the hospital by 6:45 am. Eric breakfasted the kids and had them in the car on the way to church by 9am. I rounded on 17 patients and then drove home to grab breakfast myself and food for the potluck. I was at the church a little after 9:30. I spent the next half hour or so finishing the mac and cheese and getting the other food ready for the potluck. I made it to 5 minutes of Sabbath school. Foster daughter was picked up, and I realized I had totally forgotten to wear my adventurer outfit (at least foster daughter had hers on). Adventurers bumbled through the service. Eric and I sat with our foster daughter, plus two other Adventurer kids, and tried to keep them quiet during church. After the potluck, I was overwhelmed by multiple people all needing my attention. And I was still also trying to keep track of my foster daughter. Potluck was a blur as I tried very hard to get my foster daughter to eat (she got halfway through a Belvita bar). We finished the Belvita bar in the car on the way to go and visit her parents. I was called by my resident and was triaging a patient when we arrived for the visit. I have to supervise the visit, so I was trying to talk to my resident and monitor parents at the same time. Not good. Thankfully, Eric arrived soon after and took over. Then, a few minutes later, all the adventurers showed up. Sort of made the visit a bit more awkward, but we got through, somehow....I helped lead the adventurer hike and told a quick mission story. Then all the kids did a craft outside. Then we drove back to the church, and I helped make supper. Ate and made sure my foster daughter ate. Then, I helped clean up the kitchen (mopped the kitchen floor). Michael showed up and helped me with the last little bit of mopping. I visited with a few random people while cleaning. We left the church around 8:30pm. I came home, took a shower, and then worked on all the patient notes I'd neglected. And now I'm very, very tired and should be going to bed but instead I'm blogging.
